FUTURE READY

A sustainable futures expo presented by Permaculture Noosa

Future Ready is presented by Permaculture Noosa. Permaculture is a design system for living productively while working with nature. It combines what we learn from observing nature; energy physics, ecosystems, patterns, water flow, diversity, climate etc into a system of efficient planning for sustainable living. Permaculture designs incorporate food, energy, and shelter for people and animals while linking the needs and outputs of each element of the system. The result is a dynamic yet stable system that sustains itself. Permaculture designs can be developed for any climate and on any scale, from balconies to entire villages.

Permaculture Noosa has developed Future Ready as an opportunity for the Sunshine Coast community to discover the practical strategies permaculture offers locally for the global challenges of the future.

Permaculture Noosa is a community group who support each other and exchange ideas about practising permaculture in their lives and the community. It has been meeting for over 18 years, currently with nearly 200 members. Meetings are open to the public and are held every 3rd Thursday in the Cooroy Memorial Hall. There is always a guest speaker, members produce stalls, a library for members, the occasional film and always supper. Permaculture Noosa's activites are diverse from education with edible school gardens, training with permaculture certifcate courses, to PET- (Permaculture Energy Transfer) days where members get together and help each other establish gardens and renewable systems on their properties.
